Getting Started

Heave Ho 2 Beginner Guide

Most campaign stages ask a team of 2-4 players to travel from the start to the finish by grabbing platforms, objects, and each other. Learn the basic loop of gripping, chaining, swinging, and recovering before tackling the eight themed worlds.

1

Learn Your Two Hands

Your character is a head with two independently controlled gripping hands. Practice holding a safe surface with one hand while reaching for the next grip with the other.

Team tip: Call out left hand or right hand before releasing when another player depends on your grip.
2

Create a Reliable Anchor

Before a long crossing, place one player on a secure platform and keep at least one of that player's hands attached to the environment.

Team tip: The anchored player should move as little as possible while teammates reposition.
3

Build a Human Chain

Grab a teammate's hand, head, or body and extend the group outward from the anchor. Longer chains reach platforms a single player cannot.

Team tip: Put the strongest anchor at the back and the player making the next grab at the front.
4

Generate Swinging Momentum

Rotate the team in one direction, then reverse at the right moment to grow the swing. Use several controlled movements instead of one huge jump.

Team tip: Have one player count the rhythm so everyone knows when to pull, extend, and release.
5

Release and Catch Safely

The moving player should extend a free hand toward the target before the throw. Release only the connecting hand, then grip the destination as soon as it overlaps.

Team tip: Keep the remaining chain stable until the thrown player confirms the new grip is secure.
6

Move the Team Forward

Once the front player lands, they become the new anchor. Transfer teammates one at a time or swing the rest of the chain toward the new position.

Team tip: Slow transfers are usually safer than launching the whole group across a hard gap at once.
7

Recover from Failed Jumps

When a player misses, everyone still attached should stop swinging and preserve the anchor. Offer a free hand as a rescue point, or reset the short attempt if the chain falls.

Team tip: After repeated failures, change the chain order or use unlocked support items such as extended arms.

Quick Tips

  • Always keep at least one player anchored before the team swings.
  • Releasing near the fastest outward point of a swing converts rotation into distance.
  • Complete the main route first, then replay for timers, silhouettes, mysterious hands, and photos.
  • Use the cat drone assistance that appears after a long struggle to bypass stalled sections.
Controls and Movement

Heave Ho 2 Controls and Swinging Techniques

Heave Ho 2 has no traditional jump. Movement comes from rotating your arms and body, gripping with the correct hand, releasing at the right moment, and transferring momentum between surfaces and teammates.

Move and Rotate

Move the left analog stick

Rotates and directs the character's arms and body around the current grip point.

Technique: Use small circular movements near narrow platforms and larger sweeps when building momentum.

Grip with Left Hand

Hold the left grip button or trigger

Closes the left hand around a nearby surface, object, or teammate.

Technique: Keep the left hand attached as an anchor while searching for the next grip with the right.

Grip with Right Hand

Hold the right grip button or trigger

Closes the right hand around a nearby surface, object, or teammate.

Technique: Check the on-screen hand indicator before releasing during crowded human-chain sections.

Release a Hand

Release the matching grip button

Opens that hand while the other stays attached if its button is still held.

Technique: Release near the fastest outward point of a swing to convert rotation into distance.

Climb a Surface

Alternate left and right grips while rotating upward

Moves the character hand-over-hand along walls, poles, and ledges.

Technique: Place the free hand above the anchored hand before releasing the lower grip.

Throw a Teammate

Grip the teammate, build momentum, then release the connecting hand

Launches the held player toward a distant surface or teammate.

Technique: The thrown player should keep one hand free and point it at the landing target before release.

Catch a Teammate

Move an open hand into the teammate and hold the matching grip

Stops a teammate's fall or connects them to the human chain.

Technique: Open the catching hand early and keep your body stable instead of chasing the fall.

Rotate a Human Chain

All connected players move in the same circular direction

Builds shared momentum for moving several players across a wide gap.

Technique: Choose one caller to set the rhythm and keep the rear anchor attached until the front lands.

Follow the full co-op campaign across eight themed adventures and about 60 levels. Each world adds new traversal rules, team objectives, hazards, and optional challenges.

Ski liftsGondolasIcy mountain traversalSwinging between moving supports

Objective: Move the group across elevated routes and reach the finish around moving transport and exposed gaps.

Tip: Use short, controlled swings around moving platforms before attempting timer or collectible objectives.
Items and Rewards

Heave Ho 2 Items, Unlocks and Cosmetics

Heave Ho 2 mixes world-specific stage objects with equippable support tools. Optional objectives also advance reward tracks containing gifts, cosmetics, crossover skins, and gameplay items.

Stage Object

Pop Guns

A shooting-based tool used in push, pull, shoot, and squeeze challenges.

Best use: Coordinate each shot with the team so the target player or object is ready for the result.

Stage and Assist Object

Drones

Part of the interactive object set; a cat drone can appear after a long struggle to help the team forward.

Best use: Use drone assistance to bypass a stalled section, then replay later for optional goals.

Stage Vehicle

Spaceships

A cooperative vehicle used in zero-gravity stages, piloted and stabilized by the group.

Best use: Assign piloting and stabilizing roles before launch instead of everyone pulling a different way.

Puzzle Object

Keys

Hidden keys must be found and carried to unlock stage exits.

Best use: Protect the key carrier with a stable chain and pass the key across gaps in short steps.

Traversal Object

Ski Lifts and Gondolas

Moving transport platforms carry players through icy mountain routes and create timed grabs.

Best use: Keep one player safely attached until the next support is within reach.

Equippable Objective Tool

Camera

Lets the team capture required photos of specific actions or poses for Photo challenges.

Best use: Equip it for photo objectives and stage the required scene before the final route.

Unlockable Support Item

Ima Rock

Freezes the user in midair so another player can use them as a temporary platform.

Best use: Activate it over a gap to create a stable midpoint for a teammate's next grab.

Unlockable Support Item

Arm Spray

Extends an ally's arms, making distant platforms and teammates easier to grab.

Best use: Apply it before a long reach, a difficult rescue, or a route where one player must stay anchored far away.

Unlockable Mobility Item

Umbrella

Allows floating and gives the user more control while crossing open space.

Best use: Use it to slow a fall, extend a jump, or approach a distant grab with less downward speed.

Collection Reward

Gifts and Crossover Cosmetics

Adds character cosmetics and crossover skins, including an Among Us Crewmate and Henry from Kingdom Come: Deliverance II.

Best use: Replay stages with unfinished objectives, open every gift for the Gift Addict achievement, and finish the reward tracks.
